Roman Romashkin

Roman Romashkin - Deputy Director for Development at ECFS. Roman Romashkin coordinates research on sustainable development, food security, competitiveness of agricultural commodities, international trade and regional economic integration issues.
Prior to joining ECFS, Dr. Romashkin was an assistant Minister for Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Roman supervised the implementation of harmonized agro-industrial policy in the Eurasian Economic Union, including issues of common agricultural market development, formation of common information resources, improvement of efficiency of agricultural state support, provision of fair competition and carrying out joint scientific research. From 2001 to 2012 Roman worked at Agro-Economics Department of the Faculty of Economics of Lomonosov Moscow State University and gave lectures on rural and agricultural economics. Dr. Romashkin participated in research projects of the World Bank, OECD, EU, ITC, Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, OXFAM,  International Center for Trade and Sustainable Development, Center for Trade Policy Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He holds a PhD in Economics and Master’s Degree in Economic and Social Policy from Lomonosov Moscow State University.
