Yevgeny graduated from the Faculty of Soil Science of MSU and the Faculty ofEconomics of Tomsk State University. In 2007 he defended his thesis in Moscow State University.
Within the Eurasian Centre for Food Security, MSU directs the economic direction of the IND "Optimization of the Food Systems of the Eurasian Region". In 2017 he headed the IND "Social and Economic Aspects of Improving Food Security", a member of the IND "Environmental-Economic Assessment of Impacts on Agriculture of Russia from Land Degradation and Climate Change". In 2014 - 2016. As part of «Laboratory of Land Degradation Economics» MSU worked on the project "Control of Land Degradation in the Eurasian Region", in 2001-2017 as part of the Department of Radioecology and Ecotoxicology of MSU was a member of the NIR ANO "Ecoterra" series on monitoring the influence of the project "Sakhalin-II" on the environment.
At present Yevgeny has developed and read general courses of the Faculty of Soil Science of MSU: «Economics of Nature Use», «Economy and Environmental Management», as well as special courses: «Ecological Economy: Part 1 and 2», «Environmental-Economic Assessment of Polluted Lands».
Yevgeny Tsvetnov is the author of more than 40 scientific publications, including 3 monographs.
He is a member of the Inter-Faculty Coordination Council «National Center of Competences in the field of digital economy».
Area of expertise: Environmental economics, management of natural resources, environmental-economic valuation of land, including radioactive and chemical contamination, assessment of degradation and damage, valuation of ecosystem services. Today, the main scientific interests are related to food security.
